Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Pearchange collects, uses, shares, protects, retains, and deletes information when you use the Pearchange mobile app, website, waitlist, donation features, payment flows, notifications, and related services.
Who This Policy Covers
Pearchange means Pearchange, the Pearchange mobile app, pearchange.app, and related services we operate. This policy applies to users, waitlist members, donors, and people who contact us for support. The app listed as Pearchange must be named in the policy, and this policy is intended to describe the data practices for that app.
For privacy questions, data requests, or account deletion requests, contact us at hello@pearchange.app.

How We Share Information
We share information only as needed to provide, secure, support, and legally operate Pearchange. We do not sell personal information.
Cloud and authentication providers
Amazon Web Services services, including Cognito, API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, and email services, help us authenticate users, store records, run backend services, and send transactional messages.
Payment providers
Stripe processes card entry, wallet payments, saved payment methods, payment intents, subscriptions, receipts, disputes, refunds, and transfers. Payment networks, banks, card issuers, wallet providers, and connected organization accounts may receive data needed to complete those transactions.
Notification and search providers
Expo helps deliver push notifications. Algolia helps return organization search and nearby organization results.
Organizations you support
Supported organizations may receive donation, donor, receipt, reconciliation, or support information as needed to process and administer donations. Anonymous donation posts affect public or in-app feed display, but they do not remove your identity from private payment, receipt, donor, fraud-prevention, or compliance records.
Legal and safety disclosures
We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, regulators, payment rules, tax obligations, app store review, security investigations, or to protect users, organizations, Pearchange, and the public.
App Permissions
Location
Used with your permission to find organizations near you. You can deny or revoke location access in your device settings, but nearby organization features may be less relevant.
Notifications
Used to send donation thank-you messages, organization updates, giving level notices, and payment method confirmations when enabled. You can change app notification preferences or device notification settings.
Camera
May be requested by the payment card flow if you choose to scan a payment card. Pearchange does not store card scan images.
Biometrics
Face ID, Touch ID, or fingerprint authentication can help unlock sign-in on supported devices. Biometric templates stay with your device and are not received by Pearchange.
Clipboard and sharing
The app may write an invite code or share text to your clipboard or native sharing tools when you ask it to. We do not use this to read unrelated clipboard contents.
Your Privacy Choices
- Review or update your name, preferences, organizations, payment setup, notification settings, receipts, and recurring donations in the app.
- Turn anonymous donation posts on or off for new donation feed posts from the Privacy, Security & Legal area of the app.
- Clear local app cache on your device. This removes local session state, preferences, cached push token, stored location, and organization selection from that device.
- Disable push notifications in the app or through your device settings.
- Revoke location, camera, and biometric permissions through your device settings.
- Request account deletion in the app or by emailing hello@pearchange.app from the email address on your account.
If you ask us to delete your account, we will verify the request and delete or de-identify account information where appropriate. We may retain donation, transaction, receipt, payment, fraud-prevention, security, tax, accounting, legal, and account deletion request records when we need them for legitimate business or legal reasons.
Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain account and donation records, resolve disputes, comply with payment, nonprofit, tax, accounting, legal, and app store obligations, prevent fraud, and enforce our policies. Local device data remains on your device until it expires, is replaced, you clear local app data, or you uninstall the app, depending on your device and platform.
Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including authenticated API requests, access controls, secure cloud infrastructure, encrypted transport where supported, and secure local storage where available. Payment card details are handled by Stripe, and Pearchange does not store raw card numbers or CVC codes. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep your device protected.
Children
Pearchange is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
International Processing
Pearchange and our service providers may process and store information in the United States, Canada, and other locations where we or our providers operate. Privacy and data protection laws in those locations may differ from the laws where you live.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Pearchange changes or legal requirements evolve. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users, such as updating this page, changing the last updated date, or providing in-app or email notice where appropriate.
